Delete your account

Option 1 — In the app

This is the fastest way, and it is available on both iOS and Android:

1. Open the app and go to Settings.
2. Tap Account.
3. Tap Delete account and confirm.

For your protection, you'll be asked to confirm it's really you immediately before the deletion runs — with a code sent to your phone, or by signing in again with Google, Apple, or your password, whichever you use. If you can't complete that step — for example, you no longer have the phone number on the account — use Option 2 below and we'll handle it for you.

Option 2 — Email support

Send an email to support@fartswithfriends.com from the address on your account with the subject "Delete my account." Include your username so we can locate the correct account.

We may verify your request by replying to the email on file before proceeding.

What gets deleted

• Your profile (name, username, email, profile image).
• Your audio recordings, titles, and descriptions.
• Your friendships, friend requests, group memberships, invite codes, and groups you own.
• Ratings you gave and ratings others gave your recordings, plus your leaderboard entries.
• Your username and phone-number reservations, and your referral records.
• Your notification preferences, pending notifications, and device tokens.
• Your entry in the contact-discovery index, so your account stops being matchable from other people's contacts.
• Your sign-in record with our authentication provider.

What may be retained

Some information may be retained for legal, fraud-prevention, security, dispute, or backup reasons, and will be deleted once those purposes are fulfilled. Aggregated or de-identified data that cannot reasonably be linked to you may also be retained.

Processing time

Deletions started in the app begin immediately, and typically within 24 hours. Deletion requests sent by email are completed within 30 days of verifying your request, once we've verified the request.

Encrypted backups are cycled and overwritten within up to 90 days after that. A limited record of content reports, moderation decisions, and support history is kept in restricted form so we can run appeals and prevent ban evasion, as described in our Privacy Policy.
